The Bowflex TC10 Treadclimber is the new mid level model that replaces their best selling model the TC5000. This will most likely become Bowflex’s new best selling model and it does bring some upgrades over the TC5000 and offers it at a lower price point as well.
While the first Treadclimber models were known to have some mechanical issues, the newer models have been significantly more reliable, with motors suffering far fewer problems. The key idea behind the TC10 remains the same as with all Treadclimbers: A unique approach to cardio that lets you burn more calories, without running. Certainly a big draw for a lot of us!
But does this combination of 3 cardio movements; stairclimber, treadmill and elliptical, actually work? It has been shown that you do burn more calories when compared to regular treadmills. There have been several documented studies have shown this. However, the strange movement that treadclimbers use do take some getting used to. Not to mention that treadclimbers are more expensive than most treadmills. So it’s up to you whether the pros out way the cons.

While the Bowflex Treadclimber TC10 can provide a great workout without running, keep in mind that at over $2000 it’s definitely on the pricey side. Having said that it’s price point has been brought down when compared to the TC5000. Instead of $2,499 you’ll be looking at $2,199.
The main benefits remain the same with the TC10. Low impact, high intensity workouts on a machine that is relatively compact when compared to most treadmills. The Treadclimber TC10 is still quite heavy and can be on the noisy side.
Let’s dig a little deeper:
Fat burning design: The whole draw of the Treadclimber series is it’s unique approach to cardio workouts. The 3-way movements involved allow you to get your heart rate up quickly and keeps it there. This unique design is what allows you to burn more calories, quicker and without running.
G.O. Coach Console: The G.O. Coach will track one single user’s progress over a week in order to provide both motivation and a way to chart your improvements. Each week the G.O. coach will reset.
4 separate LCD display screens: In order to provide clear readouts of your Speed, Distance, Time and Calories 4 readout screens are new to the TC10.
New design: The TC10 has a updated design that brings a much needed facelift to the somewhat old fashion look of the TC5000. They have also added a “step platform” at the back of the machine to make access easier and safer.
The Bottom Line
If you can afford it and you like the unique approach to cardio (aka you don’t like running!) then the Bowflex Treadclimber TC10 might be for you. Treadclimbers are known for providing a tremendous workout and don’t take up much room. They are however quite heavy and don’t have a great warranty. The TC10 comes with 2 years on the entire machine. This is a downgrade from the warranty that came with the TC5000.
